Proteome analysis of plasma microparticles from patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

339 proteins were identified from thoroughly washed MPs including 133 membrane or membrane-associated proteins. Thoroughly washed microparticles from SLE patients was found to be associated with high levels of C1 complex and immunoglobulins. Levels of proteins associated with platelet derived microparticles were lower in SLE samples. By PCA analysis the SLE samples can be differentiated from the control samples.
