165 differentially abundant peptides were identified by comparative MALDI-FTICR MS analysis, which could discriminate chemotherapy responsive and non-responsive breast cancer patients (table 1 + figure 2). A 5-peptide predictive index was developed (table 2) that correlated well with chemotherapy response (table 3) and progression free survival (figure 3). Future validation in a larger and independent sample set is necessary to determine the significance of this 5-peptide predictor.
