Effect of Prednisolone for Mitigation of NV of the Cornea Following Insult Using Quantitative Shotgun Proteomics

Corneal insult by HD causes NV. Prednisolone lessens the occurance and severity of NV. In animals that experience NV, the glycolytic pathway is compromised. Desmosomal proteins are also compromised. Proteins involved in corneal transparency and wound healing are increased in the endothelium of NV animals. Predisolone reduces the effects of HD, although it does not completely eliminate them.
