The application of the ionless matrix DMAN in MALDI-MSI has shown great potential over DHB in small molecules imaging. Numerous metabolites have been characterized and identified quickly form extract or directly from tissue. With the employment of MSI, the distributions of multiple metabolites were mapped and interpreted in SNF view based on confident identifications.
