Selective Detection of Polyethylene Glycol Based Laxatives in Children Stool

摘要

PEG laxative specific detection method was developed using simple sample preparation. Concentration can be determined in sub-gram stool aliquots. Sample homogeneity and collection may have affect on accuracy. Osmolar gap measurement correlated with PEG detection; possible first clue of PEG use. Future work - optimize LCMS method for faster cycle time and implementation in clinical laboratory.
