Proteomic analysis of sera from prostate cancer patients with MALDI-TOF-MS

These results show that mass spectrometric analysis of prostate cancer patients sera shows distinctive differences between patients with negative biopsies and patients with prostate cancer. Separation from other urologic diseases is feasible with high sensitivity and specificity. Classification of different tumor classes or PSA amount differences have unsufficient outcome. Identification of peaks belonging to the algorithms and increasing the case number is the next step to get results with clinical impact.
