Oxygenated compounds such as aldehydes are an example of the starting material utilized in catalytic hydrogenation in the fine chemicals sector. Aldehyde hydrogenation is often used in industry to convert products obtained from other processes that have little commercial importance to products with an increased demand and need in the chemicals industry.
