Although there is evidence of veterinary acupuncture before 1,000 BC, still persists the unfamiliarity of that science, even though studies and research prove its effectiveness. The acupoints are areas in the skin with Umited electric resistance, andcontain vessels and nerves in its depth. The nerves are stimulated by the introduction of needles and several chemical mediators are liberated to produce the desired effect from the acupuncture. From a more traditional standpoint, inserting the needle produces an equilibrium in energy flow in the meridians in the animal's body.
