Study on Tongguan Elevation and Sanmenxia Reservoir Operation Mode

Analysis has been made for variation of Tongguan Elevation since Sanmenxia Reservoir began the operation mode of "storing clear water and releasing the muddy". The main cause of the continuous rising of Tongguan Elevation in recent years is the rapid reduction of the incoming runoff during flood season as well as the high control water level of Sanmenxia Reservoir in non-flood season. A 1-D sedimentation mathematical model was used to compute the effect of 5 schemes. The actual result shows that the suggested adjusting mode is effective.
