摘要

Dynamic cone penetrometers (DCP) and multichannel analysis of surface waves (MAS W) have been shown to be useful in determining stiffness parameters in highway soils and in-situ soils. Based on the findings by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), guidelines have been established to estimate the Resilient Modulus (MR) and bearing capacity (q) from DCP readings by utilizing a standardized stiffness parameter: the California Bearing Ratio (CBR). On the other hand, MASW has the ability to analyze surface wave propagation (namely Rayleigh waves) to determine the shear modulus (G); and also Young's modulus of elasticity (£); based on shear wave velocity (Vs) and a known or estimated density (p).
