摘要

Thrombosis is a major cause of mortality in people with heart disease, cancer, and stroke which are the 3 most common causes of death in developed countries. Aspirin, heparin, and warfarin have long been the mainstays of antithrombotic therapy in human medicine. Although hereditary thrombophilias have not been identified in dogs or cats, thrombosis is recognized as a common complication of many acquired diseases, including cardiac, endocrine, inflammatory, and neoplastic disorders.
