UTILIZATION OF SERUM' POOLS IN IPMA TESTS IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF PORCINE CIRCOVIRUS TYPE 2 (PCV2) SEROLOGICAL PROFILE

Measurement of PCV2 specific antibodies is useful to evaluate vaccine efficacy and farm's handling interventions against PMWS. Serological profile (SP) are usually obtained from the individual analyses of 30 serum samples of each stage of the productive cycle representing an expensive time-consuming assay and is not suitable for routine diagnostic. This work aims to evaluate the viability of a SP obtained from a pool of serum samples as an alternative, cheaper and faster procedure.
