Swine Dysentery, caused by Brachyspira hyodisenteriae, is responsible for severe economic losses to the pig industry (1). For this reason, control or eradication measures are vitally important to reduce the negative effects on porcine production. At the present, Tiamulin is an antibiotic used against this disease, to control and eradicate Brachyspira hyodysenteriae infection on the farm (2, 3, 4). It is possible to establish a control program, in conjunction with other management and hygienic practices, on farms resulting in no reported infections This study evaluates the control with tiamulin medication in water and feed at the first occurrence of SD on a farm.
