CERTIFIED DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAM ON CLASSICAL/MODERN NAVIGATION AND CONTROL

摘要

The paper discusses the certified distance learning web-based program on classical and modern navigation and control that has been developed at the Naval Postgraduate School. This program consists of four plus two optional courses that potential mechanical or aero/astronautical students may take before officially entering NPS. Since the majority of NPS students are on-duty officers the developed program gives them an opportunity to shorten their on-campus staying. All six courses are multimedia enhanced courses that use Macromedia Flash interactive elements to explain different concepts in a better way. The paper briefly describes those six courses, shows their standardized web layout, provides several examples of different interactive media elements, and ends with a student's feedback about the program.
