A novel tube fabric composite scaffolds were made of high strength PLA(Poly lactic acid) fiber and two types of coating polymers for the regeneration of alveolar bones. Axial tensile and radial compressive properties were compared for scaffolds with PCL(poly ε-caprolactone) coat and PLGA(poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)) coat from view points of biodegradability under PBS(Phosphate buffer saline) solution. While mechanical properties of scaffolds with PCL coating were rather insensitive to PBS immersion, those with PLGA coating were much higher at initial stage, and then showed quick biodegradation. Then, we can control composite scaffolds with wide range of mechanical and biodegradable properties.
