Well Posedness and a Monotone Iterative Method for a Nonlinear Interface Problem on Disjoint Intervals

A new-type interface nonlinear elliptic 1D problem is introduced. We establish well-posedness and then we develop a monotone iterative method for the problem. This iterative method leads to a sequence which converges monotonically from either above or below to a unique solution of the problem.
