摘要

The formulae for armor layer damage evolution can be of great assistance to schedule the maintenance or repair works of rubble-mound breakwaters since they enable the simulation of the damage evolution of structures with some initial damage. This paper presents the implementation of such formulae and its application to Sines fishing harbor breakwater. Also, the first tests carried out with a procedure for scene reconstruction from a pair of scale model photographs taken without emptying the flume were the tests are run are described. It is expected that such a procedure will improve the productivity of the long-duration scale model tests needed to get damage evolution formulae valid for artificial armor units.
