摘要

Eukaryotic Initiation Factor 6 (eIF6) binds 60S ribosomal subunits, has with an anti-association property, and rate limiting for tumour onset and progression. eIF6 haplo insufficient cells are normal, but not efficiently transformed in vitro. Some lines of evidence have shown that alterations in mitochondria (the main compartments of energy production) contribute to the development of metabolic syndrome.
