摘要

The study of the electronic and structural properties of donor-acceptor it-conjugated organic compounds is a field of growing interest because of their applicability in electro-optical devices. Due to their electronic and optical properties, benzimidazole derivatives could find application as solvatochromic and fluorescent probes, chemosensors, organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), organic conductors and nonlinear optical (NLO) chromophores. Therefore, the synthesis and characterization of new benzimidazole derivatives would be of considerable importance in several areas. Although a few studies have been reported concerning NLO-chromophores based on benzimidazoles , none of them used derivatives bearing a thienylpyrrolyl moiety.
