摘要

Essentially, four major layers can be envisioned for the cell envelope of mycobacteria. The outer layers are the most important with regard to initial host interaction. This is because these layers contain mycobacterial components that can induce various host responces (e.g., cytokines and eicosanoids) . In the case of M.bovis, one of the superficial components found in the outer layer is Phenolglycolipids(PGLs) . PGLs are immunogenic with their carbohydrate at the non-reducing end as recognized epitope . These compounds have been isolated and purified previously in Mycobacterium Bovis and the structures elucidated. This work describes a new, simple and rapid method for isolation and purificartion of PGLs of M.bovis.
