Vertical and Horizontal - Myths eradicated

For many it may come as a surprise that the vertically parted moulding process and practice is as old as the horizontal parted moulding process and practice and as unbelievable as it sounds, it is known to have existed a few thousand years. In more recent times, horizontally parted moulding machines dominated the market for about half a century or so until the vertically parted moulding machines came into being in the early 1960s. Ever since, it has gained popularity and has acquired more and more market share. One of the main reasons for vertical process to become so popular in such a relatively short time was/is that both mould surfaces are used for making cavities and because of that along with the simplicity of machine construction, the productivity is extremely high. An hour's production can be the same as a whole shift's (8 hours production time) production in the old (still existing in many countries) conventional moulding practice.
