Binding affinities measured by ESI-MS titration for each compound is comparable to literature values using SPR. Presence of Doxycycline and Rifamycin SV during thermal incubation causes the formation of early soluble oligomers that appear to be off-pathway compared to control. Rifamycin SV and Suramin have a net negative effect on stability of β2m as measured by intrinsic fluorescence and thermal denaturation. Further work includes characterizing these new oligomers along with investigating the effect of these compounds on the formation of insoluble fibrils.
