1. ~H_2O metabolic labeling allows sssess HDL proteome dynamics in humans. 2.HDL proteome composition is altered in patients with NASH. 3.Patients with NASH are characterized with decreased levels of several apolipoproteins involved in cholesterol metabolism, but decreased levels of HDL proteins involved in immune response and acute phase reaction, suggesting a pro-inflammatory remodeling of HDL in NASH. 4. These changes in HDL proteome composition were related to increased catabolic rates for lipoproteins and increased production of acute phase response proteins.
