Survival yields, I(M~+)/(I(M~+)+I(F~+)), of BP salts collected at various orifice potentials were calculated for ESI-MS and LA-LVC/ESI-MS. The relative IE distributions resulting from the 1st derivative of the Boltzmann's distribution curves were identical between ESI and LA-LVC/ESI Differences in laser fluence (0.7-3.1 J cm~(-2)) and when using UV-absorbing (DIRECTOR) or non-UV-absorbing (glass) sample substrates had no effect on the IE distributions for LA-LVC/ESI.
