Trypsin digestion is generally used on protein identification. This poster shows an efficient, fast, economical, reproducible, and reusable trypsin column with biopolymers. Biopolymer is synthesized and immobilized to porous silica gels. Then trypsin is immobilized to this modified silica gel and trypsin column is packed in an empty column. Human Serum Albumin (HSA), as a standard protein, is injected to trypsin column, digested, and eluted with Shimadzu HPLC and LC-MS/MS for identification. These results are compared with In-solution digestion mode. The trypsin columns show outstanding digestion powers with stability and the potential for biological usages.
