摘要

Gas-phase and aqueous solution reactivity of the N-methyl-3-dehydropyridinium cation toward adenine, cytosine, uracil and thymine is compared. Different reaction products were observed in the gas phase and in solution, which are rationalized by solvent caging in solution.
