摘要

We demonstrate that 266 nm UV photoactivation can assist ECD to cleave disulfide bonds of insulin and ribonuclease A. High-resolution top-down ESI-FT-ICR MS provides a capability to distinguished between c/z and c/z + H ions. By combining UV with IR activation, more backbone cleavages within disulfide linkages were observed and sequence coverage can be significantly improved for top-down mass spectrometry studies.
