Membrane glycoproteins associated with breast tumor cell progression identified by a lectin affinity approach

In our study, lysis method 1 is better compared to the membrane extract kit. Both cell line samples have their own specific glycoprotein expression patterns. Further glycoprotein study on tissue samples could facilitate biomarker discovery. The use of lectin columns in conjunction with mass spectrometry offers a useful approach for the isolation and identification of novel glycoproteins. This work expands our tissue proteome capabilities from the analysis of soluble proteins in previous studies to the examination of membrane proteins.
