In a technology-driven workplace, university graduates must possess the ability to adopt, use, and adapt to new and changing technologies. In light of this, the Center for Multidisciplinary Studies at Rochester Institute of Technology evaluated the relevancy of its "computer literacy" requirement for its graduates. To understand the current and future "technical literacy " demands of the workplace, alumni, a departmental board of advisors, and others were consulted. The result was a revised requirement, asking all graduates to have either "computer literacy" or "technical literacy", depending on their expected career path.
