THE PSEUDOSPIN SYMMETRY IN ATOMIC NUCLEI. ANALYSIS OF SOME OF THE EXPLANATIONS PROPOSED

We analyse the main explanations of the pseudospin symmetry (PSS) given within the relativistic mean field framework. We make a comparative analysis of the mechanisms responsible for the breaking of the spin and pseudospin symmetries that help to clarify the different nature of these symmetries.
