ANSS Instrumentation in Mid-America - SLU

Saint Louis University is an integral participant in the USGS Advanced National Seismic System along with the University of Memphis, the University of Kentucky, University of South Carolina and Virginia Tech. The Saint Louis University Component consists of two complementary elements: broadband monitoring of the earthquake process in a large area surrounding the New Madrid seismic zone, and the recently installed ANSS urban monitoring stations. Figures 1 and 2 show the stations monitoring the region. The few analog stations near St. Louis and Cape Girardeau, Missouri, are not shown. Also the most distant station, Piqua, Ohio is not plotted.
