Comfort is a crucial parameter when evaluating an elevator. Customers relate it with both the quality and the safety of the system therefore turning comfort into a major decision point. Apart from the vertical oscillations, lateral effects caused by the irregular profile of the guides and the load distribution in the car are an important source of oscillations. The present work focuses on the analysis and development of a novel perturbation and state observer for identifying and mapping the profile of the guides to be further applied in active vibration controllers.
