A number of studies have recently demonstrated the capacity of certain metal-humic complexes to form stable complexes with phosphate through the formation of metal bridges (1,2). The aim of this work is to study the influence of the complexed metal on the formation and stability of these phospho humic complexes more in depth. Furthermore, the effect of both metal complexation and the formation of phosphate-metal-complexes on the size distribution (ultrafiltration) and functionality (FTIR) were studied in humic complexes involving iron (Fe).
