Extraction of Residual Solvents in Cefpodoxime Proxetil using Liquid and Supercritical CO{sub}2

Extraction of residual solvents in oral drug-Cefpodoxime proxetil(CPD) was carried out by liquid and supercritical CO{sub}2. High pressure soxhlet equipment was used to use liquid CO{sub}2 as extracting solvent and in the supercritical extraction, CO{sub}2 was supplied continuously instead of recycle. The residual solvent contents were examined with extraction time. Pressure and temperature conditions controlled by heat input variation did not contribute to the degree of extraction. The results were analyzed by gas chromatography.
