摘要

In this paper, the short range control of mobile robots using an optical pointing and tracking system is described. The technique uses fast hardware based methods for tracking a laser beacon, where the focused spot is maintained in the center of a CMOS camera image. This system is designed for use with a laser line-of-sight (LOS) communication system for short range tele-operation of a mobile robot.
