Stability in frictional unilateral elasticity revisited: an application of the theory of semi-coercive variational inequalities

In this paper we show how recent results concerning the stability of semi-coercive variational inequalities on reflexive Banach spaces, obtained by the authors in [3] can be applied to establish the existence of an elastic equilibrium to any small uniform perturbation of statical loads in frictional unilateral linear elasticity. The Fenchel duality is one of the key techniques that we use.
