This paper presents the findings of an investigation into solutions for making a rational agent partner decision for component sourcing from China. The paper presents a new agent sourcing process that has been developed specifically for small and medium-sized manufacturers (SMMs) who may have limited competence in managing an international supply-chain. The new model provides SMMs with a simple methodology that enables them to assess potential agents, and provide evidence to their customers that procuring China sourced components will not impair product quality and lead-time. The paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the different type of agent based in China.
