RailCom Manager: integration of information and communications systems for mass transit and mainline

In order to improve the usage of railway communication systems, this article proposes the integration of all subsystems involved and investigates the different possibilities in more detail. Since integration entails a higher demand for software, architectural concepts are explained and the effects on implementation are discussed. This article closes with an outlook into the future.
