A small team has been developing software to allow space personnel the ability to display and monitor all ground assets from one web location. This capability has never been available to the logistics personnel prior to this development program. Visibility and status of space system assets is critical for accurate decision-making and reporting. However, the current method of obtaining this information is manually intensive and disjointed. Worldwide visibility of operational, equipment, communication, and logistics status improves the decision making activities and situational awareness of operators. The decision making process needs to be improved by identifying the impact of logistics actions on operations for both the near and long term. Analysis that helps promote good decision-making is promoted in VSLRC by making use of the most appropriate metrics. Improving the situational awareness required development of a standard approach to defining and displaying status of space ground assets.
