The tunnel of Shanghai center ring located in the intersection of Hongxu-Beihong road is the first case to adopt pipe roof construction method in China, and also the largest tunnel section engineering of pipe roof in soft saturated layer in the world. Based on this case, a creative method of jacking cultivate box in pipe roof is presented. The scheme of this engineering is discussed in details in order to provide experience for other similar projects.
