Plug and acquire - the new Weihenstephan standards for process data acquisition in bottling plants

Data acquisition is an important factor to evaluate the filling division of a brewery. An appropriate Production Data Acquisition (PDA) system is characterised by easy installation and reliable operation. In cooperation with users, machine manufacturers and system vendors, the Chair of Food Packaging Technology developed standards for PDA systems for bottling plants which fulfil these needs. These new OMAC-compliant Weihenstephan Standards specify the interface between machine controls and PDA systems. They also define automatically generated operating figures for bottling plants and give advice for detailed reports. Furthermore, they include guidelines for inspection and safe operation of PDA systems.
