Rubber materials are used in various industries like home appliance and automotives. They are inherently featured by buffering, impact resistance, and non-conductibility. Although they are relatively poor in oil and heat resistances, the rubber industry has recently seen continued developments of rubber materials correcting these weak points while expanding applications. In the future, it is expected that rubber materials will be applied to the advanced technologies to manufacture ultra-precision and super-compact machines. Amid growing demands for these precision rubber components from the industrial fields, this study has been made for the application of an estimate expert system designed to develop proper moulding systems and calculate prime costs for rubber moulding in preparation for development and subsequent mass production of similar products.
