The focus of the current work is on the modification of an existing EAF model (Bekker, et al, (1999)) to incorporate the energy input from the oxyfuel burner system. The effect of the oxyfuel system on the pressure, temperature and off-gas composition are studied. Model (Bekker, et al., (1999)) outputs are generated using plant input data and compared with the measured temperature and pressure for the particular tap. Simulation results demonstrate that a good match is achieved between the measured outputs and the model output.
