The status of women in physics in Bulgaria

Scientific results are obviously independent of the gender of the researcher, but the methods chosen for problem solving and the style of presenting results at scientific forums are often gender-dependent. Usually, women are better speakers and explain the subjects more carefully. This may be a result of women's experience with children at home. While raising and educating the kids, the woman should bring the abstract knowledge of the world to the child's mind. Thus, women may better understand the difficulties that can arise from the special use of everyday words in a particular scientific field. This natural ability determines their career: they become teachers in physics, more often at high schools than at universities. The choice of approach and methodology of investigation, if there are options, is based on an intuition distinct from the male's. A man asks a question like: Does the content of thought merely give us abstract and simplified "snapshots" of reality, or can it go further, somehow to grasp the very essence of the living moment that we sense in actual experience? Searching for the answer takes a lifetime. A woman usually considers problems that can be resolved in a limited time: a month, a year. Of course, there are exceptions on both sides.
