Working with High-Tech Customers on Power Quality Issues

Austin Energy, a municipally owned electric utility company, is located in Travis County in the State of Texas. Austin Energy has developed intensive programs to address power quality and reliability issues affecting its industrial, commercial and residential customers. During the last decade, many large industrial, in particular high-tech companies have moved to the Austin area. This has made Austin Energy step forward and develop programs to ensure its customers receive the highest level of power quality available. Austin Energy has the opportunity to better serve its key primary customers by focusing on its customers' needs, improving power quality at its transmission and distribution levels, providing technical support and information, and establishing an open and honest daily interaction and communication with the customers.
