Slow milking cows can significantly depress parlor throughputs (1) and have more predisposition to hyperkeratosis (3). The economy crisis presented in 2002 in Argentina, encourage to cull this cows from the dairy farms. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of slow milking cows on milking time, hyperkeratosis, individual somatic cell count (ISCC), bulk tank somatic cell count (BTSCC), prevalence of Staphylococcus aureus and incidence rate of clinical mastitis (IRCM).
