This work is aimed to implement a new simple approach for steady-state analysis of single-phase self-excited induction generator. The method is based on the implementation of a constrained optimizer "fmincon", which is built in Matlab, to minimize the total impedance equation of the generator and then determining the required unknown parameters. The main advantage of this technique, compared with other methods of analysis, is its simplicity since no lengthy algebraic derivations are required. In addition, the same objective function (total impedance equation) can be used to determine the desired unknown parameters of the generator without applying new mathematical derivations, like other techniques.
