摘要

The purpose of the article is to present a model of expatriate turnover model based on Black and Mendenhall (1990) model constructs. The proposed model proposes a set of propositions affecting expatriate adjustment and performance in overseas assignments. The model posits that cross cultural training, individual factors, environmental and work related factors affect a person's ability to develop skills which are essential for adjusting and performing on overseas job assignments. A comprehensive model, not only provides direction for future empirical research but also help mangers think heuristically about the broader range of causes of expatriate turnover.
