Rinsing water after the electrolytic galvanising process contains in addition to zinc (and in some instances also nickel) free sulphuric acid. In the past these rinsing waters were either disposed of or were thickened in the evaporator. The metallic residues were applied again to the electrolyte. Recycling of sulphuric acid into the electrolyte was unwanted. Thanks to the innovative nanofiltration, the rinsing water can be successfully separated into two. One part contains water and acid and is re-used in rinsing process. The second part contains the valuable metals which are used for the electrolyte.
