During this research several fields were investigated. Initially a research looking far causes of bad performance of DWI material when extracting cans from body canmakers. After this research was establish that main reason for obtaining great "earing" in cans was quick thickness variations in small length of strip. This fact implies that this new parameter must be considered as important as thickness tolerances when analysing DWI quality material. It was detected that the specifications of customer can be accomplished along coil but problems may appear if quick variation are in short portion of coil (about 150 mm). That is, it is no the same a thickness variation along strip that same variation in a small portion of strip. Reason is that incremental of thickness in coupon extracted for making a can is very high in the case of quick variation but not in case of same variation along strip.
